Believe it or not, I did not start out with money or sponsorship. It was actually the exact opposite. Back when I started, there was no such thing. I had to hand load and cast a lot of ammo by hand and drive/ travel by train to many matches- sleeping in my car and staying in dinky motels. I also worked at a fertilizer plant for 15 years when I first started shooting, Working about 60 hours a week and going to matches any time I had a chance to take time off. I always used second hand guns, recycled all my bullets in a bullet trap I made by hand, made my own lube; and I always shot the cheapest reloading components I could possibly find so that I could shoot as much as possible. It definitely isn't easy, most things in life that are worth it aren't- but you have to set your priorities in life and make it your passion. Dry firing helps a lot too!
